Eike Batista is a self made and renowned businessman who own property worth US $7.5 billion. This entrepreneur was recently ranked eighth wealthiest person among all the rich people in the world by Forbes and holds hold the rank of wealthiest person in Brazil. He is known to take risks in the business which has always paid him back.
Eike Batista was born on 3rd November, 1957. His father, Eliezer Batista da Silva was a well known government official in Brazil and headed one of the lgargest mining firms in the world named Companhia Vale do Rio doce. Before owing businesses in water, steel and oil sectors, he took up gold trading which led him to gold mining in Amazon.
He went to the dense forest to Amazon where he risks his life but fortunately he got gold dust which worth around $200,000 and he flew away in his plane with it. He studied metallurgical engineering at the well known University of Aahen. Soon he owned several gold mines from Argentina to Russia. His oil findings which were at the shore of Brazil also paid him well. He took several risks for his business but he attained success in all of them.
Eike Batista was also a speedboat racing champion and won many national and international challenges. Batista owned a speedboat which is equipped with 1100 horsepower engine which is ranked among ten super boats which took participation in New York Offshore grand Prix at Hudson River.
He has two very close friends who also hold similar interest. Nelson Piquet and Aryton Senna, who are the close friends of Batista, hail from Brazil and are Formula One Racing champions. Batista, who dropped college studies, became rich in a very short span of time. He calculated the worth of his wealth which could reach to US $ 100 billion in the upcoming 10 years. He also wants to establish cordial business relations with China.
Batista gained a lot of name and money in a very short duration and this also created a lot of problems for this wealthiest individual of Brazil. He had to go through intensive police investigation as he was alleged of gold smuggling. Although, he came out clean and there was no evidence found to prove him guilty. But this made him disturbed for sometime. However, this does not affected his life or business and he continued to work as usual.
