Labor Ready, Inc. (Labor Ready), is a global provider of temporary employees for light industrial, manual labor and construction trades. The Company offers temporary staffing solutions within short term for various industries. The Company has several customers primarily from small- to mid-sized companies in the construction, hospitality, warehousing, landscaping, light manufacturing, transportation, wholesale, retail, and sanitation and facilities industries. These businesses require temporary staff for several types of manual work.
Labor Ready was incorporated in 1985 in Kent, Washington but began its operation only in 1989. The Company currently has 912 branches all over United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and United Kingdom. Company appoints about 600,000 temporary workers annually to more than 300,000 customers in various fields. In 2004, company acquired Spartan Staffing and added with Workforce brands in the Southeastern United States. In 2005, the company continued its growth by acquiring CLP Resources, a skilled trade solutions provider company having 52 offices in 20 states.
In April 2007 the company acquired Skilled Services Corporation (“SSC”). SSC was founded in 1993 and is a skilled construction trades staffing provider with 21 locations in Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, Colorado, and North Carolina. Business Week selected the Company as one of the Top 100 Hot Growth Companies for the second year in a row.
Labor Ready’s share was publicly traded on New York Stock Exchange under the ticker of “LRW.” The company has headquartered in Tacoma, Washington.
The Company registered revenue of $1.35billion in fiscal year 2006, which is an increase of 9.1% over the previous year. Net income improved 23.3% to $76.5 million or $1.45 per diluted share. The increase in revenue was primarily driven by full year revenue of CLP resources, which the company had acquired during May’2005. The company undertook share repurchase effort in 2006 by repurchasing $88.7 million of common stock which includes commissions as well. In addition, Board of Directors have authorized further repurchase of $75 million of company stock in year 2007.
The company has registered “Spartan Staffing”, “Labor Ready”, “CLP Resources” and services like “Work Today, Cash Today” and “Work Today, Paid Today” with US Patent & Trademark Office. The Company has been also granted patent for the system which helps in controlling CDMs. CDMs are required for disbursement of payroll to temporary employee.

Workforce - it is a full-service company providing skilled and general labor to multiple industries. Specializing in long and short-term projects, recruiting, full and part-time temporary employees for weekday and weekend shifts.

The Company has collaborated with the Army National Guard to help in employment of members of the Guard and their families. Reason of help is due to transition between jobs, move into new communities or considering supplement income before or after that of active-duty deployment
