Acxiom Corporation is a company which is involved in integration of data, technology and services to design create and implement customer and information management solutions for companies across the world. It helps companies in customer retention solutions through various innovative and data management solutions.
The Company has core competencies in technology of customer data integration and services, IT (information technology) outsourcing, data, database services, analytics & consulting and privacy leadership. It has following two business segments based on location:
• U.S. Data and Services
• International Data and Services
The U.S. Data and Services segment is involved in facilities management for data center, information technology outsourcing, management of network, client / server management and other relevant services. However both the segments include consulting, database and data warehousing, data content, list processing services and software products. With help of various business segments the company provides customized solution to companies in various industries like Automotive, consumer goods, brokerage, financial services, health, insurance, Media & communications, outsourcing & IT services, Retail & consumer markets, Retail banking, technology, travel & entertainment etc. As part of its business model Acxiom forms partnership with various technology and solutions firms. Some of its partners are Accenture, Bearing Point, Austin Logistics, Chordiant, HP, IBM, Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAS, USA DATA, Doubleclick, Unica Corporation etc
Acxiom was founded in 1969. It has head quarter in Arkansas. Worldwide it has more than 6,000 associates. It has operations throughout the United States (US) & in the United Kingdom (UK), France, Australia, Germany, China, The Netherlands, Spain, Poland and Portugal. The Company is listed in New York Stock Exchange under ticker ACXM. In 1983 company came out with offering of first public stock.
The Company has been named in the InformationWeek 500 list and has secured rank of 117. It was given Twenty first Century Achievement Award by Computer world Honors Foundation, for contributions to the global IT (information technology) revolution with development and delivery of CII (Customer Information Infrastructure).
Acxiom registered revenue of $1.40 billion which is higher by 4.7 percent from $1.33 billion in year 2006. Thus there has been an increase of $63 million in annual revenue in fiscal year ending 2007. Company’s income from operations increased by 21.1 percent to $158.8 million in year ending 2007 as compared to that in year 2006.
During the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007, the Company acquired Kefta, Harbinger Technologies Group, InsightAmerica, Inc. and Equitec. In September’07 the Company acquired Echo Target, a New York-based which is leader in retargeting dynamic banner.
Acxiom consists of following three business divisions:
• Acxiom Services: The division develops, sells and delivers industry-tailored solutions globally through the integration of products, services and consulting. The primary target market is the Fortune 1000 and other large global firms. This division is responsible for Acxiom’s marketing database solutions, customer data integration (CDI) offerings, e-mail and internet search marketing services, consulting and professional services. The division also plans to offer Business Information Grid (BIG) non-hosted solutions in fiscal 2008. This will help to utilize existing client-intimate engagement model.
• Acxiom Information Products: The division develops and sells all data and risk mitigation products, including Personicx®, InfoBase® and InsightIdentify in U.S. and all European Data Products of Acxiom. It focuses on product lifecycle management, product development, innovation, management of data content and innovation. Its primary target market channels are the Acxiom Division which provides Services to Fortune 1000 clients, mid-tier direct sales personnel and reseller market and the broker.
• Acxiom Infrastructure Management: The division is responsible for developing and delivering IT (Information Technology) products & services. These products help to improve a company’s ability to manage its IT (information technology) delivery platform at low costs and high efficiencies. Thus it includes IT outsourcing and solutions which can transform solutions like data factory of the Acxiom. The division in fact focuses on supporting an entire infrastructure for high growth companies, emerging companies and or specific components of large IT enterprises. This division has efficient asset, Operational excellence and practices related to capital management.
Privacy Practice
Acxiom also has practice related to consumer privacy issues. Its team of specialist in privacy area helps in designing and implementing responsible privacy best practices.
