Gardner Denver, Inc. (“Gardner Denver”) manufactures, markets and designs vacuum and compressor products and various other products for fluid transfer. The Company in addition manufactures highly engineered blowers and air compressors for various industrial applications. The Stationary type air compressors are widely used in process and manufacturing applications and handling materials, and various power air equipment and tools. Blowers are widely used in wastewater aeration, pneumatic conveying, and vacuum systems engineering.
The Gardner Denver also offers compressors and pumps for OEM (original equipment manufacturer) applications including gasoline vapor, medical equipment, refrigeration recovery, packaging, printing, and equipments of laboratory. Apart from these products the Company also manufactures, markets, designs, and services to various adverse groups of jetting systems for water, pumps, and related market parts, which are used in well drilling for natural gas and oil, production and servicing and in several industrial maintenance and cleaning. Gardner Denver also produces loading arms, couplers, valves, swivel joints, protection of fall and access equipment that used to unload and load ships, rail cars and tank trucks.
The manufacturing of petroleum and industrial equipment of the Company was begun in year 1859. In 1859 Robert W. Gardner reengineered governor of fly ball to provide control of speed, for various steam engines. After that Gardner Company started to expand its products such as air compressors that have vertical high-speed and steam pumps. In 1927, two companies were merged namely Gardner Company and Denver Rock Drill. The Denver Rock Drill was a producer of various equipments for mining, oil wells and construction and after the merger it became Gardner-Denver Company.

The Cooper Industries, Inc (Cooper) acquired Gardner-Denver Company in year 1979 and Gardner-Denver Company, worked as unincorporated divisions. The two divisions that are Air Compressor and Petroleum Equipment of Gardner-Denver were merged into Division (Gardner-Denver Industrial Machinery Division), in 1985. In 1985, the company purchased OPI pump and it added to Division. Cooper acquired DuroFlow and Sutorbilt blower lines and Joy compressor product line, in 1987; these were also added to the Division. In 1993, Cooper transferred all liabilities and assets of Division to the Company that became Cooper’s fully owned subsidiary. In 1994 company became an independent company.
The company’s shares were traded on New York Stock Exchange under the ticker of GDI. In 2006, the revenues of company were about $1.7 billion.
Since 1994, after becoming an independent company Gardner Denver has acquired following 20 companies.

• The Company acquired Wittig Division of Wittig (Mannesmann Demag AG) in 1998.
• The Company has acquired Allen-Stuart (Allen-Stuart Equipment Company, Inc.) in 1999.
• The Company also acquired Butterworth Jetting Systems, Inc., in April 1999.

Compressor and Vacuum Products Segment
Compressor and Vacuum products segment, designs, markets, manufactures, and services reciprocating, rotary screw, centrifugal air compressors and sliding vane, centrifugal, positive displacement and channel blowers, single-piece piston, liquid ring pumps, reciprocating, diaphragm, vacuum pumps and linear compressor that used in engineered systems and OEM applications. Gardner Denver also manufactures, designs, services and markets complementary ancillary components or products, such as access platforms, gearboxes and axles, and power take-offs.
Fluid Transfer Products Segment
Gardner Denver manufactures, markets, services and designs various pumps and the water jetting systems and aftermarket parts that used in well drilling of natural gas and oil, production and servicing and in cleaning and maintenance of industries. Fluid Transfer Products Segment also manufactures markets, services and designs, several other components for fluid transfer and various equipments for petroleum, food and chemical industries.
