Larry Ellison (Lawrence Joseph Ellison) is Oracle Corporation Founder and CEO. Ellison is the one of the richest person in the world; Ellison has founded the Ellison Medical Foundation.
Ellison has born in New York City on August 17, 2025 to a young unwed Jewish mother. For the better upbringings to his son, his mother has given him to Lillian Spellman and Louis Ellison. They were her aunt and uncle at Chicago. They have formerly adopted when he was none month old. Ellison did not meet her mother until he was 48.
The name Ellison has been taken by his adoptive father when he has entered in US from his native Crimea as a tribute to Allison Island. Ellison was very supportive nature to his adoptive mother; his adoptive father has often distant and cold. Ellison has grown up in middle-class neighborhood of Chicago’s South Shore.
Ellison was found as intelligent child and he has completed his graduation from South Shore High School. Ellison has attended University of lllinois but he has left at the end of the second year as his adoptive mother has been expired. After adoptive mother death, he spent the summer with his friend Chuck Weiss living in Northern California. He has continued his studies at the University of Chicago. Only one term time he has spent in the University and during this time he discovered programming language and permanently located to Northern California. At his time he was 20 years old.
Ellison has started his carrier with computer programming and he has worked in various companies. In the free time he uses to do hiking and climbing in Yosemite. In the year of 1967 he married Adda Quinn which was lasted seven years and ended in a divorce in 1974.
During the last year of his marriage, he has started working for the company called Ampex Corporation as a programmer. His primary role was on Database project for the CIA. Ellison named this project as Oracle which was later name of his own company. Working on this project, Ellison read “A Relational Model of Data for Large Shared Data Banks” which inspired him to from the initial $2000 as the start up fees for his own database system. His company named Software Development Laborites. He has switched company name few times and at last he kept his company name as Oracle.
Larry Ellison wanted his Database system to be compatible with IBM System R but IBM refused to share the code which was necessary to make this possible. So Ellison was forced to release his system as singular data sharing system.
