Mukesh Ambani born on April 19, 1957 in Aden, Yeman. He is a Businessman, Chairman and Managing Director of the Reliance Industries. It is the largest private sector enterprise in India with 500 companies. He has 48% of stake in the Reliance Industries. He is the world fourth richest person in the world with the personal wealth of $ 29 Billion according to the Forbes Magazine. He is the Asia’s wealthiest person. Mukesh Ambani and younger brother Anil Ambani are the two sons of the late founder of the Reliance Industries, Dhirubhai Ambani.
Mukesh Ambani has directed the world largest grassroots petroleum refinery at Jamnagar, India. It has the capacity of 660,000 barrels per day. Today he leads the largest private sector conglomerate in India.
Mukesh Ambani has married with Nita Ambani. He has three children, Akash, Anant, and Isha. He also owns the cricket team as Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League.
Mukesh Ambani has done his school at The Scindia School, Gwalior. He has studied Chemical Engineering from the University Institute of Chemical Technology. He has done his MBA from the Stanford University, USA.
Mukesh Ambani has joined Reliance Industries in year of 1981. He has initiated Reliance’s backward integration journey from textiles into polyesters fibers. Later he has integrated to the petrochemicals, petroleum refining and going up-stream into oil, gas exploration and production.
Mukesh Ambani has chosen as ET Business Leader of the year 2006. He has ranked 42nd rank among the World’s Respected Business leaders. He was the second among the four Indian CEOs featured in a survey conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers and published in Financial Times, November 2004.
Mukesh Ambani led the 51 new, world class manufacturing facilities involving diverse technologies which has raised the Reliance’s manufacturing capacities manifold. Mukesh Ambani is also incharge of his father Dhirubhai’s dream project Reliance Infocomm but after the split with Reliance Empire it has gone to his brother Anil Ambani.
Mukesh Ambani has plans to enter in the big retail stores all over the India. Recently, he has also made an agreement with the Government of Haryana to establish a Special Economic Zone with an investment running in thousand of corers.
Mukesh Ambani has many achievements in his life. He has chosen as a Businessman of the year 2007 by a public poll in India conducted by NDTV. He has conferred the United States-India Business Council leadership award for “Global Vision” 2007 in Washington. He was Former Chairman of IIM-B.
